Vestland Adventurer
A 1972 Danish-built ferry converted for polar work, now sailing worldwide for Vestland Classic with up to 130 guests.
Built in 1972 by Helsingør Skibsværft og Maskinbyggeri A/S in Helsingør, Denmark, as the car and passenger ferry Kattegat for Jydsk Færgefart A/S.
She later sailed for companies including P&O and Viking Line. In 2008 she was acquired by Gap Adventures, renamed Expedition and converted from ferry to passenger vessel at Aker Yard in Finland, after which she began sailing in Arctic and Antarctic waters.
In 2025 the vessel was purchased by Vestland Classic and continues to operate in polar regions.
The ship has been upgraded several times: new main engines in 2015 (Genoa), new auxiliary generators in 2017 (Lisbon) and a new Kongsberg propulsion and manoeuvring system in 2022.
With Ice Class B certification and high safety redundancy, she is a robust ship for global voyages.
